Annual General Meeting

Thursday, October 18, 2007 at 7:30pm

Morgantown Chess Club will conduct its Annual General Meeting on Thursday, October 19th at First Christian Church (100 Cobun Ave., Morgantown). All current members are cordially invited. The meeting starts at 7:30pm. Free coffee and cookies will be provided. Immediately after the meeting ends, there will be an opportunity to beat the newly minted Club Champion in a clock simul.

  5. New Business **
    a. The board would like to have an open discussion on strengthening the board by expanding it with one or more members with specific assignments that may include (1) publicity and outreach, (2). Website maintenance, and (3) tournament planning. This will require a change in the Club Constitution backed by two-thirds vote majority.
  6. Election of Club Officers ***
    a. Vice-President (two-year period)
    b. Treasurer (two-year period)
    c. Board member-at large (one-year period)
  7. Other Business

* Board proposes to maintain current level of membership fees for 2008

** Club members may lodge motions for discussion under New Business (Item 5) with the Club Secretary (Terry Wassell, Email: k3jt@westco.net).

*** Nominations are encouraged from the membership. Self-nomination is acceptable.

Join us

Club meets Thursday evenings from 7 to 11pm at First Christian Church (basement) in Morgantown (directions). The club is closed the last Thursday of every month.
