Annual General Meeting

Thursday, October 19, 2006 at 7:30pm

Morgantown Chess Club will conduct its Annual General Meeting on Thursday, October 19th at First Christian Church (100 Cobun Ave., Morgantown). All current members are cordially invited. The meeting starts at 7:30pm. Free coffee and cookies will be provided. Immediately after the meeting ends, there will be an opportunity to beat the newly minted Club Champion in a simul.

a. Jens Madsen motions that Article 6.2 in the Club constitution be amended as follows (change in italics):
6.2 Board Members must be members in good standing for their term of office. A member in good standing is one who does not have any club sanction imposed on him or her. Any member of the club, aged 18 or older, is eligible to hold office. The Board member-at-large must be aged 16 or older.
A change in the Club Constitution requires support from a two-thirds majority.

Other Business

* Club board proposes to maintain $20 annual membership fee in 2007

** Club members may lodge motions for discussion under New Business (Item 5) with the Club Secretary (Terry Wassell, Email: k3jt@westco.net).

*** The Club Board nominates Jens Madsen for President, Terry Wassell for Secretary, and Jim Eakins as new member-at-large.

Join us

Club meets Thursday evenings from 7 to 11pm at First Christian Church (basement) in Morgantown (directions). The club is closed the last thursday of every month.
